Regulatory Compliance: What is Sasisopa?

What is SASISOPA?

SASISOPA stands for "Sistema de Administración de Seguridad Industrial, Seguridad Operativa y Protección al Medio Ambiente" in Spanish, which translates to "System for the Administration of Industrial Safety, Operational Safety, and Environmental Protection." It is a set of integrated management systems designed to prevent and control risks and improve the performance of facilities in the hydrocarbon sector with respect to industrial safety, operational safety, and environmental protection.

SASISOPA is a regulatory framework for the hydrocarbon industry in Mexico, established by the National Agency for Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection of the Hydrocarbons Sector (ASEA). The system aims to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practices in the hydrocarbon industry to reduce the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and environmental harm.

SASISOPA includes a range of elements, such as risk assessments, emergency response plans, environmental impact assessments, and performance monitoring and reporting.
