Take action this month to protect yourself from heart disease.
745,000 deaths from strokes and ischemic heart disease were attributed to employees working too many hours in 2016, according to the World Health Organization. This was a 29% increase from 2000. Working long hours is now blamed for about one-third of the total estimated work-related burden of disease. This makes it the risk factor with the largest occupational disease burden.
Since reducing employee work time isn't an option for many employers, it's important to provide employees with resources to promote healthy hearts.
